Yeap, I should be more clear.
Yes, when you hide a layer, all other objects is hided as well. It not showing in viewport and in renders. But Multiscatter is still visible in render.
Not sure how other folks manage they scenes, but seems completely logical to have MS in some groups, not to click every MS object and turning it off and on (imagine if you have many Multiscatters in scene).
this was done so you can hide original objects in hidden layer (but still scatter it) instead of constantly moving it out of frame
no one complained untill now )
but we will think how to improve this in future
Not sure for others workflow, but hiding original objects (like proxies) is always a must.
But anyway, I'm thinking that Multiscatter objects, should behave like any other 3dsmax objects - if hidden in viewport - in rendering it should be also hidden. And vice versa. IMHO.
