Questions regarding VRayScatter

Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing VRayScatter but as there is no current demo, I was wondering if I could ask a few questions?

1) Basically, I'm reading through this manual for 3DS Max and apart from the UI, are there any differences between the platforms? Or features that are going to be added to Maya?

2) With VRayScatter, is it possible to use the "curve" to distribute objects on an uneven terrain like the following picture?

(The picture here is cropped, but if you open the full image in a new tab it will make sense).

Thank you!

1. You could check the manual for the available features - https://icube3d.com/media/manual/VRaySc ... -En-v1.pdf + some new features here: https://forum.icube3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1084
2. Yes, there is the "Mask curve" option, which behaves exactly as you draw.

Thank you for the reply bdancer.

There's one thing I couldn't get from the manual though, can the Maya version also do this? I couldn't see some of these parameters in the Maya manual.

Thanks!

Yes, this is supported, in "Pattern" rollout "Type" parameter could be set from "Random" to "Pattern 1", "Pattern 2" or "Pattern 3".
