Vray 3.003 Lightcache stuck on 99%

Lightcache computing is stuck at 99% and won't winish. I have a scene with 3 MS objects.
If I switch off 1 of them, the image renders fine. If I isolate all 3 MS elements, it renders fine, but if I try to render the whole scene it get stuck!
The scene consist of a few houses and 20-30 hipoly trees converted to proxies and scattered by hand.
The CPU usage is at 10%, and the RAM at some 7-8 gigs and desn't move. Is there a limit to the number of proxy instances a scene can have? I have 32 Gb of RAM so, it's not a RAM issue.
If I try to render a preview scene using Solidrocks (or manually) with extremely low LC settings, it still manages to render fine.
Any advice? I'm on a tight deadline, and just lost 4 hours today. Should I revert to vray 2.4 and the older version of MS?
