Multiscatter crash in 3dsmax 2010

Quite often whist working on any scene involving multscatter I have crash problems. It is quite random. Sometimes I can leave a scene, check my email, come back and 3dsmax will not respond. I didnt have this problem before installing multscatter.
Any help or resolution would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Are you sure it happens because of MultiScatter?
Try to remove MultiScatter and check for crashing.
Such problem is for 3dsmax 2011, but not for 2010.

Yes, i have the same problem.
Multiscatter is very unstable for me, i have notice that when i go to max menu rollout, for instance to merge an object or so, it´s more probably to crash. I have even make a shortcut kayboard to merge objects and to avoid this problem, however now i´m dealing with a scene with more objects and when i hit render it just simply crash, i´m guessin this is a memory thing, but what can be done to avoid this, i have 12GB ram in a I7 920 machine under W7 64bit (max 2010).
I have contacted support, let you know if i can get a solution.
Bye.

I have exactly the same spec as you. Ive uninstalled the vue 8 plugin for max but still get this same problem. Other than the Vue plugin I have only ever installed Vray and that doesnt usually crash on me except on very rare occasions.
